Because my clients are so diverse in their website needs, one-size fits all maintenance agreements don’t really work for me. Frequently Asked Questions

Squarespace is easier to work with, looks great, has tons of built-in functionality, and is affordable. These are things that are really important to my typical client - who tends to be visually driven, non-techie, small business people on a budget.
Squarespace is an all-in-one platform that includes hosting, security, updates, and design tools in one place—making it streamlined, reliable, and easy to manage. WordPress is open-source software that offers deep customization but requires separate hosting, ongoing maintenance, updates, and more technical oversight. In short: Squarespace is simpler and more controlled; WordPress is more flexible but more hands-on and expensive due to hosting and plug-ins.

Squarespace is a powerful e-commerce platform, especially for small to mid-sized businesses. Unless you need complex inventory management, advanced sales reporting, or multiple sales channels, Squarespace does an excellent job guiding customers through the buying process. It’s intuitive, easy to update, and simple to manage on the fly using the mobile app.
Where Squarespace really shines is storytelling. Its clean, highly customizable design makes it ideal for brand-driven businesses where visuals and content play a key role in the sales process. Shopify, by contrast, is built first and foremost for selling at scale. While powerful, it often feels more transactional and template-driven—and relies heavily on plugins, which can quickly become costly.
For many businesses, Squarespace offers the right balance of design, usability, and e-commerce functionality. The platform allows your brand’s story to lead the experience rather than getting lost in a purely sales-focused framework.
My other business, Dirigible Designs, is a great example of a simple, effective e-commerce site built on Squarespace. It demonstrates how seamlessly the platform can bring together design, content, and commerce.

If your website collects any user information—contact forms, email signups, analytics, cookies—you’re legally required to disclose how that data is used. A privacy policy builds trust with visitors, protects your business, and helps you comply with regulations like GDPR and CCPA. Even small businesses and portfolio sites need one; it’s not just for big companies.
I work with Termageddon as an affliate so I can offer my clients the best and most practical solutions.

Your website is often the first impression of your business—and outdated sites can quietly turn people away. Regular updates ensure your site looks current, works properly on new devices and browsers, loads quickly, and accurately reflects how your business has evolved.
Updates also play a critical role in SEO and AI visibility. Search engines and AI-driven tools prioritize websites that are fast, secure, well-structured, and regularly refreshed with relevant content. A professional website designer understands how to optimize page structure, headings, metadata, image sizing, internal links, and performance in ways that go far beyond surface-level edits. While it’s easy to change text or images, strategic updates ensure your site is readable, indexable, and competitive—helping your business show up more clearly in search results, AI summaries, and recommendations.
