Working with Porfolios (updated 7/29/2026):

  • Portfolios vs. galleries — portfolios are collection pages with a landing page + individual project pages; galleries are just a collection of images; portfolios are more intensive but allow full page formatting per project

  • Best use cases for portfolios — installations with multiple shots, 3D objects with different views, projects needing written descriptions; overkill for a standard painting or jewelry collection

  • Landing page — fully editable with sections and blocks; the bottom section is the project list (grid of thumbnails)

  • Project list layout options: grid overlay (recommended), grid simple, and various hover styles; adjust aspect ratio, spacing, text placement, and overlay opacity and color

  • Hover color is changed in Site Styles → Colors → your color theme (not on the page itself)

  • Individual project pages run on Fluid Engine — add sections, images, text, galleries, and videos just like any other page

  • Project settings — set the thumbnail image, title, draft/publish status, SEO title and description, and social sharing image

  • Duplicating projects — use Settings → Duplicate; cleans up the URL slug and title afterward; duplicates save as drafts automatically

  • Videos on project pages — link from YouTube or Vimeo rather than uploading directly; always add a custom thumbnail to improve load time

⭐ Core advice: portfolios are powerful but time-consuming — only use them when you genuinely need a full page per project; for most artists a well-organized gallery page is enough.
